About Ingersoll
Ingersoll sits on the Thames River about 35 km east of London, just off the 401, a town of around 13,000 known for its cheese-making history and the CAMI plant on its edge. The downtown along Thames Street is historic brick, and the streets around it, near the Cheese and Agricultural Museum and Victoria Park Community Centre on Harris Street, are older homes with steep roofs and mature trees.
Newer housing on the north and west sides brought standard two-storeys and bungalows, and outside town the land turns quickly to farms and rural lots along the concession roads toward Thamesford and Beachville. On the older streets, chimneys and dormers need careful flashing, and the shaded north slopes are where shingles tend to fail first.
The river valley holds a little more humidity, and the mature trees that make the older streets attractive also mean heavy leaf fall in the eavestroughs and moss on shaded north slopes. Winter freeze-thaw and spring wind are the main wear on roofs, as across the region.
Roof replacement, repairs, metal roofing and flat roofs are all quoted in Ingersoll after an on-site inspection, in writing.
